Our Process:
This 1939 Ford pickup is a beautiful example of precision metal restoration and classic craftsmanship. When Dr. Castillo brought the truck in, the goal was to preserve as much of the original steel and structure as possible while preparing it for a full cosmetic and mechanical revival.
Our team handled all the metal work and body restoration — no paint, just pure fabrication, shaping, and alignment. Every panel was stripped, cleaned, and inspected for corrosion or fatigue. Where metal had thinned over time, we fabricated new sections by hand to match the factory contours exactly. The cab, fenders, running boards, and bed were all carefully re-fit to factory specifications to ensure proper gaps and alignment before primer was applied.
We also restored the original flathead V8 engine, maintaining the truck’s period-correct character. All supporting brackets, mounts, and inner panels were straightened and re-conditioned, allowing the future finishing team to focus on paint and assembly with minimal adjustment.
Once the metal work was complete, the pickup was delivered in a fully primed and aligned state, ready for color and reassembly. The finished truck (shown here) stands as a tribute to both Ford’s design heritage and the timeless skill required to bring vintage sheet metal back to life.
